The case for the Kaiser Chiefs single I've got now was smashed on the way to us, that's a sign from god if I ever saw one. Produced by Mr. Trendy Head Mark Ronson, this is illiciting laughter from all of us for all the wrong reasons, with it's call and response vocals (highlight: 'What do you want for tea? I want crisps') it's 'so bad it's good' according to Brian, who obviously secretly bums this. Personally I'd rather brush my teeth with our toilet water than listen to this smug shite again. And if you've ever seen our toilets you'll know just what a statement that is.Having decided that they were going to release an EP in the Autumn of this year, Kaiser Chiefs retired to the rehearsal room only to emerge weeks later with a batch of songs they had chosen to record, it was only once they had started to record the tracks that they then realised that perhaps it maybe an idea to scupper the EP and do an album's worth instead....
The band consequently hooked up with Mark Ronson and worked on the new songs both up in Leeds and down in London, several of the tracks they had planned for the album including 'Never Miss A Beat' had been played live since the band's sold out UK Arena tour last Winter.
Already an established live favourite 'Never Miss a Beat' is the irst track to be lifted off the band's third album 'Off With Their Heads' and sees a band emerging from the obvious 'pop' sensibility of their catalogue , 'Never Miss A Beat' enters the fray under a barrage of guitar squall backed with a keyboard led refrain and a sound that veers away from previous outings...it's a record of intent!
The CD features the b-side 'Sooner Or Later' and the 7" 'How Do You Feel About That?'. Look out for the quirky fruit packaging artwork!
