Duncan Lloyd - Seeing Double

Seeing Double by Duncan Lloyd

4...according to our on Fri 03 Oct, 2008.

Duncan Lloyd is the guitarist out of Maximo Park. His debut album on Warp is really good, but honestly, get this right, I wanted to do it more justice so I took it home planning on having a couple beers then my mate Rick rang up & we ended up going to the Fenton pub on Woodhouse lane where Gang of Four & the Mekons used to hang out and then we met Gary Numan outside in the beer garden who's now in a band called The Truth About Frank and he gave me & another mate a menthol spliff then I had a ginormous pepperoni and olive pizza and more beer and actually completely forgot that I had the debut solo CD by the guy in Maximo Park in my bag and stumbled out of my front door this morning , Seeing Double, a little fuzzy round the gills worrying about the fact i'd forgotten my car's MOT is due then this huge furry cat came and mioawed at me and I forgot that I was supposed to be worrying. Then I got into work and there was this little concern that i'd forgot something.......All I can remember is that it's hazy, cool melodic US style college rock, a bit Barlow/Lowenstein-ey with great tunes. He is after all the guitarist in one of my favouritist indie bands so trust me when I say it's good but I can't recall much more than that as Phil's been off all week and we're all a bit tired. CD is posh packaged with an extra CD of other stuff and is limited to a mere 300 so be quick sharp like. Vinyl is probably limited as fuck as well and looks real posh n' that. Not bad for a Geordie ;0)

The debut solo album from Maximo Park’s lead guitarist Duncan Lloyd is a blast of melodic indie infused with American influences.
Ten infectious upbeat tracks, including the single ‘Suzee’.
Gorgeous summery artwork taken from Duncan’s own pictures.
Available exclusively to independent retailers as a special edition double CD set featuring a bonus CD of unreleased material (limited to 300 copies).
