Marc Collin is the man behind Nouvelle Vague and the Parisian composer who single-handedly changed the way we thought about Depeche Mode, Joy Division and Visage by daringly rearranging their songs with bossa nova beats and sultry chanteuses.
Hollywood, Mon Amour is his new project, in it he strips away the dated bombast and overblown synthesizers, the shoulder pads and eyeliner of the 80s to reveal songs underneath that you could never even imagine existed.
The album is available on limited digipack (1,000) with three bonus tracks, and double LP as well as the standard.
Some of the hippest young female singers of today were queuing up to work with Collin including superstar to be Yael Naim, Skye of Morcheeba, Brazilian hipster Cibelle and appropriately Hollywood’s own rock chick, Juliette Lewis, plus many more.
From ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ to ‘Flashdance (What A Feeling)’, Marc Collin digs through the layers of garish production to find the forgotten bones of the song beneath.
