The Kabeedies seem to have really increased in popularity with you guys lately. Currently spinning is 'Treasure Hunting' which I think is their third single. They're a talented bunch of jangly indie poppers from Norwich. It's not my cup of tea like but I can appreciate what they're doing. It's part of this new wave of happy indie that the likes of Los Campesinos, Buen Chico and that are doing at the moment. It's good that not all the youth is disaffected and can actually have a laugh getting pissed and going to indie discos and that. Proper bouncy pint spilling gear.A ‘TREASURE HUNTING’

The Kabeedies are four teenage tykes who live in Norwich, the home of indie, and suitably they play intelligent fizzbanging jingle jangling indiepop like they used to make in the olden days. Indeed, The Kabeedies hark back to a time when alternative bands understood that DIY was OK, booking tours and making songs available to fans when they bally well feel like it, not when a major label can fit them into their release schedule.
Better still, while the vibrantly enthusiastic whizzpop of 'Treasure Hunting' represents The Kabeedies' second official single following the springtime release of 'Lovers Ought To' on Cherryade, these people being firm advocates of the indie ethic they also delight in 'releasing' EPs and tour singles when the mood takes them.
And their system works: Huw Stephens and Steve Lamacq have consistently flagged up their support for the quartet on Radio 1 over the past year; Artrocker have featured them and given them excellent reviews, and even the NME showed their love by mentioning them over the summer.
The Kabeedies glistened at Glastonbury and nipped over the border into Suffolk for a victorious sort-of-homecoming at Latitude; and the autumn sees them embark upon the sort of string of self-booked dates which only either the young and pop-crazed or frankly foolhardy would contemplate taking on.
