Onto Children Of The Wave who have a CD out on the Aussie Sensory projects label. 'Carapace' is a 9 tracker which is an odd beast to describe. I can hear bits of Mum and Animal Collective in there.... The music is pretty gentle sounding weird electronic folk pop, played with weird ethnic sounding instruments and electronics... with the occasional undecipherable vocal (which sounds like someone moaning) layered on top. I really like this one. This is what I'd call great experimental indie folk music and it's just beautiful. Keeping this one short and sweet as it's a tricky one but check it out cos it's well interesting. Also there's some pretty brutal insects on the cover which look well evil. The strangely veiled Children Of The Wave present Carapace, their debut album, filled with experiments in ethnic-melds, pop, near-country, acoustics, found sounds, field recordings, and cinematic abstractures of the most textural inclination. Think early Animal Collective, Tuung, and Mum, maybe.. Barely describable, and all the better for it!
