Just a quick jaunt into Reissue Corner to let you all know that we've got the 4 Men With Beards reissues of the two classic La Dusseldorf LPs available for you to buy now with your money. For those who are in the dark, this is the group Klaus Dinger formed after Neu! ended and while they never quite reach those heights (not many ever have) both the self-titled LP and Viva both contain numerous superb examples of genuinely progressive rock music (as opposed to that wanky 'prog' filth). The former spends much of its time taking Dinger's patented motorik beats and whirling up a Harmonia/Cluster-esque textural synth storm around them, while the latter goes for more accessible sounds and occasional outright pop structures before ending with the 20 minute epic of 'Cha Cha 2000', one of the finest and most blissful tracks to come out of the whole Krautrock 'thing'. Although it does sound a bit like the theme tune to Eldorado. Both of these LPs come seriously recommended, I preordered one of each and I take home only the best. That's how I roll. Viva is the second release from Klaus Dinger's post-Neu! group. Originally released in 1978, Viva is a stunning combination of washed out synthesizers, swirling guitar work and Dinger's trademark motorik rhythms. Featuring the classic "Cha, Cha 2000", Viva is another fine effort from one of Krautrock's legends and stands as a testament of just how gloriously ahead of their time the German progressive rock scene of the 70s could be. An essential record, released domestically for the first time ever. Tracks: 1. Viva 2. White Overalls 3. Rheinita 4. Vögel 5. Geld 6. Cha Cha 2000
