A while back Bromheads Jacket were the hot shit at the time. Was it 2-3 years ago? God knows.. This industry moves so quickly these days that people have forgotten your name once you've not released a record for the month and you've been replaced by some younger, prettier more fresh faced hot shit. Then you're doomed to the annals of the history of a particular scene. Not many bands can transcend this to be honest. So will Bromheads be hot shit again? I doubt it. However good their new album is people always want something new and exciting with music so leaving it 2-3 years before surfacing with a new album and no single beforehand is a brave brave move. I'll give 'em that. So what is 'On The Brain' like? Well the songs are still short and the lyrics are still chocka with cultural references. It's a bit dirtier and scuzzier in places.... almost swampy grunge at times. Mind you there are a few lighter songs in there. Though it does sound to me like they've lost their edge and urgency they had with those early singles (a couple of which I really liked). But it's probably more diverse than the last album as it doesn't all sound the same......This will keep the diehards happy, piss a few folks off and maybe they'll get a handful of new fans. On Marquis Cha Cha!
