We've got an interesting 12" here from some Flemish fliends calling themselves Red Stars Over Tokyo. You get a track on each side, the first (I think) being synthy business in the vein of the cold wave stuff coming out of continental Europe in the 80s and also the odd US act such as League of Nations. It also brings early Zombi to mind, particularly with the prominent mid-range bassline groove, I can well imagine Dario Argento, Mario Bava or one of those other Italian horror mavericks using this as a soundtrack to some mental slasher horror set on a overly-stylised space station. Side two keeps up a similar sort of schtick but ramps it up a notch in an electro-techno style. The man from Del Monte, he says "Yes."Red Stars Over Tokyo "layers" 12" Hot Hair records 12330108
