OVERVIEW: “An authentic and shit kicking rock n roll band that have the potential to cause serious structural damage” - Kerrang
Fresh from headlining the Goldcoast Oceanfest in Croyde Bay (19th June 2008) in front of almost 8000 screaming fans, the Imperial Vipers return with new single “Check This”.
Debut album “Searching:Falling:Silence” established the Imperial Vipers as one of the more exciting underground UK rock acts on the current scene. Critical acclaim and constant touring have seen the band build a fanbase and expectation for their follow up album – to be released late 2008. For the band, their time is now….
“Check This” is the one of the most infectious hard rock tracks you are likely to hear this year - a driving rhythm section overlaid by the powerful and melodic vocals of frontmen Ash Simmons – one of the defining aspects of the Vipers sound. A classic rock sound with a modern punk twist that never forgets the value of melody.
The single was produced by the legendary Steve Power (Blur, Feeder, Bon Jovi, The Charlatans, Robbie Williams). He also produces the forthcoming Imperial Vipers album… BOTH VERSIONS FEATURE EXCLUSIVE B-SIDES
The UK five piece hit the road in 2005 after lead guitarist and songwriter Wevs returned from six months surfing up the east coast of Australia. Arriving back in a cold and wet England, Wevs decided that his love of classic punk and modern rock n roll was the only thing that could inspire him. He put together a band with old friends and they set out to do things there own way – with a nod to the greats such as Led Zep, AC/DC and Soundgarden but with the punk rock spirit of bands such as The Clash, Guns N Roses, MC5 and The Stooges.
