 This record left our Brian feeling happy.
Color Cassette is from Kentucky and his collected works are available over two 3" CDs on the mega collectible Mobeer label. We've been discussing how we all admire Moteer/Mobeer & the Emperor Remote Viewer for their unshakable commitment to what is essentially laptop indie folk. So many practitioners have come & gone over the years, now probably following other routes & styles but these 8 songs are from another age, where chiming acoustic guitars jangle over soft playful understated beats & field recordings, the more folky tracks sparring with drifting songs based more in the fields of drone & ambience. It all sounds very lovely, hazy & home made and is more than sufficient ammunition to blast the Mobeer cannon into space again! 'Small Town Smoker' is highly limited and numbered in the usual manner and is expected to go quick.

ladies and gentlemen time please, and on your way out pick up a copy of the color cassette 3''cd. it's actually 2 x 3'' cds and if you know the drill you''ll have already guessed that they come housed on a mobeer beermat, slipped in to a hand assembled sleeve and then popped into a little brown envelope and stamped. don't thank me. thank craig.
based around a nucleus of jason corder and matt yarrington, color cassette and their kentucky cohorts have assembled a little mobeer classic for us. we think the eight tracks here have a touch of the sufjan interludes, a touch of the straight stories, a touch of the front porches.
so expect plucks of banjos and guitars and a little humming and clicking. Expect a soundtrack from that film of about the lonely cowboy, lovelorn and broke, just a casio for company and a dream of making berlin. that would be a decent film wouldn't it. i think dustin hoffman would be in it.
anyway you know the score with us, it aint gonna be black metal. if you've bought the others you'll want this one. be quick. they never last long.
