B. Breakfast
Following glowing notices from the NME (“it’s clear we’re in the presence of greatness”) and The Fly (“the teeth-shattering ferocity of Pixies at their most pissed off…radio-slaying, agit-pop melodies”), Parisian trio Underground Railroad release their new single a fortnight ahead of their coming-of-age second album ‘Sticks and Stones’ on One Little Indian.
Recorded in Seattle at the dawn of 2008 with renowned producer John Goodmanson at its helm (Death Cab For Cutie, Blood Brothers, and Sleater Kinney), it sees Underground Railroad gain maturity without sacrificing their angular, noisy leanings
“Dark French post-rock…sounds like Pixies covering Psychocandy” NME
“Black-hearted avant punk…whiplashing climaxes.” Metro
“A sound to frighten Gallows back into the tattoo parlour.” The Fly
“Awesome.” Jason McGerr (Death Cab For Cutie)
