Following the critical acclaim the Manicured Noise "Northern Stories 1978/80" compilation has attracted, Caroline True now release a remix of a key
moment from the album 'Faith', as a limited (500) 7". Known as a punk-funk/leftfield classic, "Faith" was acclaimed on its original 1980 release for its tough Northern backbeat, acknowledging an indebtedness to the Twisted Wheel and the Wigan Casino. Lauded NYC producer and DJ Pocketknife here whittles the track into a totally floor-friendly form with his 'Straight Line Edit', while the original version is on the flipside. Pocketknife has creatively remixed a wide range of artists from Joanna Newsom through to Feist and Paul Simon, and the recent 'Tambourine Dream' 12" drew much applause. Causing a transatlantic stir, Pocketknife is a real musical man of the moment, and this should be a big hit with the Optimo/DFA crowd.
