Born in the suburbs of West London, one listen and you'll be sold on some of the most charmingly catchy pop you'll have heard this side of the Thames. Together just a year, The Broadways are enjoying the success the past twelve months have brought. With their debut single Just A Dreamy Day, storming into the UK indie charts at number six and selling fast nationwide after being backed by Zane Lowe (Radio 1),John Kennedy (XFM) and Gary Crowley (BBC London) they have certainly started to make their mark. They're style is one that suggests front man and guitarist David D has had one too many sherbets;supercharged rhythm and a touch of shuffle, place The Broadways somewhere between the dance floor capabilities of The Smiths and the drawl of The Clash. With songwriters David D and Patrick Hough combining David knack for interesting melody and Hough's ability to capture hometown characters, their lifestyles and his own venerability in growing up,with a touch of poetic cheek, drawing influence from Bruce Springsteen. The rhythm section of Jack Brill(Bass) and Jake Hutton (Drums) provides the perfect backdrop for these stories of love, despair and general 9 to 5 life. The Broadways have managed to capture London's hear with much the same charm as the likes of Jamie T and Larrikin Love before them.
