“Wherever this wave of ultra-psychedelic leftfield hip-hop beats is coming from, by golly we like it. Flying Lotus and Samiyam from LA, Rustie from Glasgow, and now Matt "Lone" Cutler on Nottingham's Dealmaker Records all channel the spirit of the late, great J-Dilla, with beats knocked lopsided and lurching in ways that are wonderfully wrong but somehow totally groove, and surging washes of sensuous electronic sounds. Lone carves out his own territory within this sound by making heavy use of lush lounge / exotica / easy listening samples, giving the whole a tropical, sunstruck feel that is reinforced by titles like 'Interview At Honolulu' and 'Buried Coral Banks'. This woozily sexy album is trippier than trip-hop ever was... by golly we like” it 4/5 – Mixmag
