This record left our Brett feeling happy.

When the Haar Rolls In is the new gunslinger in town and his underfed, overused horse is called James Yorkston. He calls one of his guns compact disc and one double 10" and they'll shoot your ears off as soon as look at you. He also drags a massive coffin with him everywhere he goes that contains his secret weapon, a hefty box set with the vinyl plus three CDs. This isn't working is it.. If he did country music it might be more understandable. What we've got here is more of his usual gentle folk loveliness with his songwriting taking centre stage, painting evocative pictures in your mind with timeless words that are quirky without being self-conscious, a trick many folk acts fail miserably at these days. If you liked his previous stuff you should be well into this.

•There will also be 1000 limited numbered deluxe boxsets which will include the CD and 10” vinyl versions plus a CD of James Yorkston songs covered by Archie Bronson Outfit, King Creosote, U.N.P.O.C and others, and a CD of James Yorkston remixes including the rare Four Tet remix of 'The Lang Toun‘, an exclusive James Yorkston Pin Badge and exclusive James Yorkston Canvas Bag.
•One of the limited box sets will have a Golden Ticket which will grant one fan their very own James Yorkston composition written just for them, which James will perform live at their home.
•In September, the single ‘Tortoise Regrets Hare’ will be released, with a supporting video made available across music and entertainment websites and music stations.
•Will Hodgkinson has interviewed James for his book and is a big fan.
•James will be playing some radio sessions with The Waterson’s, and will be performing live in August including a headline show with Lisa Knapp at London's Roundhouse on 19th August followed by a UK tour in November.
