Roots Manuva's 'Slime & Reason' album drops and it's a return to form. The beats are innovative and razor sharp, basslines fat as you could hope for and lyrics both intelligent and witty. 'It's Me Oh Lord' is a heavy ass tune with neck snapping snares and big bottom end (I like big bottom ends) with a wicked dirty analog fuzzy sound. It contains both the recent singles which only serve as a taster of the depth of what's on offer here. One of the UK's most talented hip hop artists is back on the case with an enlightening window into his world. "My pen is my Beretta" indeed. 2CD set that comes with 'Slime & Version' dubs.
