Fantastic, like a wall of sound slapping you in the face, probably the best single I've heard all year.

What we say

Rating: unmoved This record left our Phil feeling unmoved.

Four Dead In Ohio have a 7" out on YoYo Acapulco Records. Debut 7" job.. you know the score. I know you're gonna be wanting me to tell you it's an amazing 7" but I'm not right keen. I guess the obvious thing here is Oasis... but Oasis done years ago.... probably sounds a bit like The Gyres and Pusherman if anyone ever remembers them. Big guitar indie rock. Decent enough tune with massive epic production (which I actually like) but despite it having lots of energy its a right rickenbacker plodathon.

What the label says:

TRACKLISTING:

A. 'Jesus Won’t Dance IN My High Heels'
B. 'A Southern Man'

The Story: FOUR DEAD IN OHIO consist of Jakob Ohlen (vox, guitar), Stuart (bass), Doug (guitar), and Rick (drums). ‘Jesus Won’t Dance In My High Heels’ / ‘A Southern Man’ are the first ever single release for both band and record label on the brand spanking new YOYO ACAPULCO.

Recorded with top producer Mark Wallis (The La’s,U2) the band has conjured up a truly epic debut single which matches the bands breath-taking live show. FOUR DEAD IN OHIO formed in September 2007 through a love of Interpol, The Verve, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Kings Of Leon, The Black Angels and the legendry Syd Barrett.

** Over the past months the band have jumped in the van and toured up and down the country playing shows alongside The Raveonettes, The Duke Spirit and touring with the likes of Ladytron and The Black Angels. The band were picked up by Steve Lamacq at an early stage where a demo sent in by the band was played on Radio 1. Psychedelic sounds are taken to a new level when this band is in town and with a fan-base growing by the minute; this is a band to keep an eye on.
