We've had a few decent releases in from Gareth Hardwick and here's another!! This one is split with Taiga on Low Point Records. There's just 300 of these and they come with a free download for your MP3 twatbox. As handy as they are (I have one..) I just don't like 'em. MP3 files sound compressed to buggery and they strip the soul from music. That's a different argument anyway. Here Gareth has one side of lush drone which to me sounds very Stars Of The Lid indeed. It's very warm sounding music which makes me feel like I want to be in a coma and have this parping on in my ears while I'm dribbling over well wishers hands. Very lush indeed. The Taiga side is also drone gear but it's a bit harsher and the frequencies are less gentle on the ears. A tasty release those and those into all things drone should get this and get trollied to it.

A meeting of minds from across the Atlantic, this release pairs UK resident Gareth Hardwick with Taiga Remains of the USA for two sides of solo experimental guitar.

Gareth Hardwick’s contribution to the release, “High Tension”, continues to demonstrate his unique take on guitar-based ambience. The patented smears of processed guitar are still present, whilst more dissonant elements including fuzz, hiss and static have also been introduced to bolster and underpin the nature of the composition.
Taiga Remains is the solo guise of Alex Cobb, label head of Students of Decay and resident of Cincinnati, Ohio. The Taiga Remains track, ‘Pantomime Bodies’ presents an intricate listening environment that through layer upon layer of sound reveals new depth and tones with every play.

10" vinyl EP packaged in a heavyweight antique green paper sleeve. Ltd edition of 300 copies. Everyone who purchases the EP will also be able to download a copy of the tracks in 192kb encoded mp3 format.
