OVERVIEW:
Prior to the release of their debut album ‘Reveries’, Gothenburg’s pacific! are set to release their next single “Sunset Blvd” in the UK through hip new independent label Half Machine Records (MIT, Mirror Mirror and Psychedelic Horseshit) on August 11th.
“Sunset Blvd” is another example of lifelong friends Danny Hogberg and Bjorn Synneby devotion to 60s west coast America and the harmony-drenched likes of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. Complete with shimmering synths, church bells and and an angelic chorus of ‘ooohs’ , “Sunset Blvd” is also reminiscent of ELO and even references the band in the line “It’s a livin’ thing”. They mix this pacific-coast shimmery pop with a rich legacy of French music much closer to home, from chilled out Gallic titans like Air and Phoenix.
Also featured on the single are remixes by indie’s quirky man of the moment frYars along with Kitsune Maison alumni and recent remixer of Hot Chip, Midnight
