A Sunny Day In Glasgow
Summerlong Silences
A Norman Records recommendation (1st August 2008)

This record left our Brian feeling ecstatic.
As far as shoegazing revival stuff goes, there's not a lot of new gear that floors me that much as I'm really old and was present & correct when all the original purveyors were hawking their wares! One exception is A Sunny Day in Glasgow who's album last year was a real treat. on their debut 7", 'Summerlong Silences' you get shimmering treated guitars crossing swords with a heavenly disembodied female vocal and an understated syncopated drum track to create a blissed out ethereal treat that sounds like a lost Seefeel track but would possibly have fitted in nicely with later stuff on Sarah. It has a sweet chiming resonance & hazy beauty that sounds quite timeless! 'On & On' (remix) is a funkier beast with a clattering electronic beat underpinning some great tremolo action and god knows ALLSORTS of mental layered sounds! It's quite like a shoegazing zoo (sonic cathedrals of lions anyone?) is this track, totally kaleidoscopic & disorientating in it's near manic prog beauty and some of the sounds are delightful. I'm gonna take this home & bang it out loud, REALLY loud! Ltd to 250 copies. x Brian

What their label says...
Super limited 2 track 7" from Philly's ASDIG, touring the UK at the end of July, this is chiming modern day shoegaze indie rock that shimmers...b-side On & On (Fantastic Imagination Remix).
