6Blocc/ Parson - La Dubstep Nostra EP

La Dubstep Nostra EP by 6Blocc/ Parson

Brian and I are discussing slowing down late 90's tech-step drum and bass tunes a conversation prompted by the 'La Dubstep Nostra' EP that features 6Blocc, Parson (Planet-Mu) and Nebulla & DJ Dore. The 6 Blocc track 'What The Fuck' has a big monster darkside bassline that could've come out on an old No-U-turn record. It really displays how dubstep evolved from jungle... The Parson track is pretty techy and all, again another dark dubstep tune following the foundations laid down by Vex'd and co. It's all very sinister with some vocal samples about extra Terrestrials. The last tune has some bloke rapping and saying bad words that my mum would tell me off for repeating them. On a far more interesting note however I fell in a bog on the way home from the pub last night after saving a frog from being splattered by oncoming traffic.

Representing the City of Angels, this new LA dubstep label kicks off with heavy hitters from LoDubs super-producer 6Blocc and Planet Mu inhabitant Parson, and the third more-than-bonus berth filled by NYC DJs Nebulla and Dore, veterans of the bad apple’s Dub War sessions. Big buzz on this across the ever-expanding U.S. scene right now, with plenty of folks keen to see the heavily-traded mp3s turn into vinyl reality. Track titles ‘Blackwater, What The Fuck?!!’ and ‘Sons Of God’ offer clues as to the breed of woofer-beating vibe on offer here.
