What a confusing lot this Fucked Up are.. I've heard them before but they sounded nowt like they do on this 'Year of the Pig' 7", it starts off almost like a twee little indie song with nice female vox (Bono's wife) before the usual guy's guttural blurking kicks in and totally, like, dominates her, y'know? I quite like it, although none of us really know what to make of it. Definitely interesting anyway. What's also confusing is that they've released it over three 7"s in three territories in a cool little stunt, we've managed to get limited copies of the UK and US versions so you'll have to be quick. There's also a CD coming later apparently!

This EP is an expanded version of the 12” single from the Toronto band (originally released by WYR? in mid-2007 and by Vice in the UK in early-2008). In addition to the original 18-minute title track and the flipside, ‘The Black Hats’, the CD also features three different edits of the title track and three new, unreleased tracks. Each edit and each unreleased track will also be featured on one of three 7” singles, each with a different sleeve and released in the US, UK and Japan respectively
