What the label says:

A set of cover versions of songs by some of bandleader Andy Cabic’s favourite artists, the album offers a joyful and intriguing insight into some of the music that has inspired and informed the band, whilst remaking the songs very much in their own image and existing as a stunning and coherent opus in its own right. Andy wanted to share songs which were favourites of his and his circle of friends, and perform them with a reverence and appreciation for their finer qualities; the lyrical and sonic nuances which keep him returning to them time and again for inspiration.   The album includes contributions from two of Andy’s heroes, Vashti Bunyan (who duets on ‘Sleep A Million Years’) and Michael Hurley (who does likewise on his own ‘Blue Driver’).
‘A Thing Of The Past’ will appeal to fans of Vashti Bunyan, Devendra Banhart and Joanna Newsom, amongst others, as well as classic rock acts such as Neil Young, Creedence Clearwater Revival, et al, plus similar projects such as Cat Power’s ‘Jukebox’ album.

About our used items

These are items we've bought from folks and are selling on to you (hopefully). They should all be in as good as new condition unless stated. We also chuck in some rare promo items as well under the umbrella of 'used' just to separate them from the new release stock which arrives daily. It's all very green 'n all....

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
