What their label says...
) A blast of infectious eccentric British Pop influenced by Bowie, Sparks, XTC, Blur and Victorian London. Includes debut single ‘Horrors’ described by Artrocker as "a little belter". London band Silvery release their debut album ‘Thunderer & Excelsior’ – a 14-track blast of infectious, eccentric British pop and an essential release for 2008. Immersed in a world of Victorian London and the X-Files, soundtracked by musical influences from Bowie, Blur, Sparks to XTC. The result is an Organ-led, energetic maelstrom from a band who are “not afraid to play very fast, and not afraid to play very slow.” Their first single ‘Horrors’ was picked up by Steve Lamacq (Radio 1, BBC 6 Music), and went on to win Zane Lowe's Fresh Meat contest on Radio 1. The single also received great support including Gary Crowley (BBC London, BBC 6 Music). The video was featured on MTV2, NMETV & TopshopTV. Second single ‘Devil In The Detail’ is released the same day – strictly limited 500 numbered 7” and includes exclusive non-album B-Side ‘The Squadron Leader’. Album reviews : Artrocker, NME, Plan B, Rocksound, Clash (plus covermount CD & band feature), Bearded, Mojo and More to be confirmed. "What a little belter this is. Pure, head-on pop music. This could be a very good year for Silvery. Buy this record." Tom Artrocker Extrovert and slightly dramatic" Steve La
