You Stole The Sun by Twisted Wheel

Twisted Wheel are a funny proposition. I think they're from Oldham, Manchester and are the perfect combination of Arctic Monkeys' rollicking urban bluster & Pogues-esque anarcho folk on 'You Stole The Sun' They sound like the roughest, most exciting diamonds on the block these boys, the thrashed rhythm guitars remind me of early Wedding Present, like the strings are being shredded, the lyrics are spat out by a man that must be half way through a bottle of dark rum and the drums are relentless & rattly, like a rebellious call to arms. This is one of the most thrilling & catchy singles i've heard from a major label band in a long time, it sounds totally real, has bags of energy & vigour and they'll either sink like a boulder or go stellar, there's no other way about it. 7"/CDs on Sony

Ltd (2.5k) & numbered 7" vinyl only 4 trk EP release from critically acclaimed, Manchester indie guitar band. Showcasing their raw power & anthemic songwriting, this will help establish them as real stars of the future. Includes a demo & 2 live tracks.

been a long time since i heard anything this raw and effective. wow lyrically  jonny brown makes alex turner sound like the middle class kid i suspect he is. lyrics this sarcastic and sneering can only be written by someone who has had an insight to growing up in an urban nightmare of sorts, unbelievably exciting. love 'em.
