This is a swanky little split 7" between Bengal Traitors and Jerusalem and the Starbaskets, the vinyl's clear and the sleeve's all swirly making me expect some sort of psychedelic freakout which these two tracks definitely aren't, they're good though. The Bengal Traitors track is a slow slice of Americana pie built on a simple, winding arpeggio progression that you'll have heard in a thousand different songs before but you know how these things are, it's a classic for a reason and all that. There's even a harmonica solo, you don't see enough of those around. Flip over this bad boy and there's a much more full-bodied tune with a jangly mid-paced guitar groove reminiscent of a kind of lo-fidelity Spacemen 3 or something, about half way through it speeds up which is cool then again which is cooler. Cool. Bet they were all born with shades attached to their faces.

fabulous split 45 on clear wax in 2 part, op-art psych sleeves featuring the mighty "everybody's dig accounted for" by JATS, total killer, raw groove blues that descend into a velvets meets the sonics freakout. backed by part time james and jessica toth (wooden wand) side project "bengal traitors" with the magical "sumtimes". 350 copies on clear vinyl.
