I'm vaguely aware that Fleet Foxes have has a bit of attention but I hadn't given them any myself since I knew it wouldn't really be my bag, the good thing about being here is that you get to make your wild, unfair assumptions and judgements concrete by actually being forced to hear the stuff, then feel smug for being right. Not this time though, I really quite like this 'White Winter Hymnal' 7". The title's pretty descriptive with the layered vocals and melody very redolent of something you might hear being sung by nervous young children in a church while a manky old priest stands behind them feeling their backs up. It made me think of Simon & Garfunkel with Beach Boys harmonies, Phil reckons it's like My Morning Jacket. Hark at how lovely it is!
