OVERVIEW:
Imperial Leisure’s new single ‘Great British Summertime’ is a timely celebration of the idiosyncrasies of the average British summer, complete with the ten-piece ska/punk/rock band’s characteristic blasting brass hooks and rapping vocals underpinned by soulful melody.
Great British Summertime is rampantly infectious, anthemic, and catchy as hell - a worthy successor to previous singles In A Letter (“a tune of epic proportions – you’ll be singing it for the rest of your life”, said Radio 1’s Colin Murray) and Man on The Street.
Reckoned by many to be the hottest live band in London right now, Imperial Leisure have a busy summer ahead, playing festivals pretty much every weekend including Glastonbury, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Beachdown and En Dorset. No doubt they will also be indulging in their trademark guerilla gigs, which have become legendary, whether in parks, on the beach or in festival car parks.
