3" CD thang on Ampoule, the home of Pub. Well the pub is always a home from home to me! This one's a new title from Bachel and starts off with some sombre piano like Satie on moggies before the keys descend into an ominous cyclic vortex where the tones melt into some minimal ambient tones that hum like a bevvy of tranced out monks before dissolving into spaced atmospherics. Then the fractured micro-dub ambient techno thugs come round and bash my office in & stab my pet fox up, the cataclysmic pig-dog mofos! How dare they? Oh in all seriousness this is really beautiful gear, like the most stargazing of the Basic Channel or Rod Modell stuff. Then the last track (Disnae) has harpsichord bleeding into some really emotive string washes that verge on the classical AND classic. It's exactly like Stars of the Lid and their recent stuff, like uber-soothing and magical. I'd get in quick cos there's only 100 no'd copies of this bitch called 'Go-Gax' and it's nibbling at the skirting boards to escape!01 Yes No Piano (11:10)
