Hercules And Love Affair - You Belong

You Belong by Hercules And Love Affair

4...according to our on Fri 04 Jul, 2008.

That Hercules And Love Affair album wasn't really my thing but there was one tune in particular that stood out. 'You Belong' is simply a great house track indebted to very early chicago house but then there's a big Inner City/ Kevin Saunderson sound happening. The vocals are really soulful and the tempo is kinda slow and dirt unlike the production which is really clean and glitzy. 7", CD single and 12" which feature a remix by Kevin Saunderson himself as well as Derrick Carter and Riton. It even boasts a sleeve that looks like on old house record. Yes there was a time when House music was innovative and bloody good.

Hercules And Love Affair continue their disco revolution with the release of the brand new single ‘You Belong’ on July 7th. Taken from their critically acclaimed debut album and sung by the fabulous Nomi it’s a mixture of cowbells and desire, synthesizers and lust with a sprinkling of Inner City’s magnificent ‘Good Life’, all topped off with Antony’s backing vocals for good measure.

A breathtaking set of mixes now including Derrick Carter, Riton, Kevin Saunderson and a stunning Hercules Club Mix are all designed to get your ass on that dancefloor for yet another club smash. And if that’s not enough, the Hercules And Love Affair remix of Yazoo’s ‘Situation’ is currently going down a storm across clubland.
