Gang of Four! This is exciting. 'Second Life' is the A-side of their new 7", sadly it's not a document of their addiction to sinister, life-sucking online worldy things but it does feature a chorus which says 'I'm alone but you own me' which suggests they probably have played it after all. It starts off brightly with a typical scratchy and trebly Andy Gill riff suggestive of their earlier greatness (think 'To Hell with Poverty') but after that it's not hugely memorable and the chorus doesn't really do it for me at all. Much better is the Tortoise remix of Paralyzed (from Solid Gold) on the other side, dubbing up the original to really good effect, it's worth the cost on its own despite the fact it feels a tad brief.
