 This record left our Phil feeling happy.
Thom Yorke has teamed up with Berlin mullet parade Modeselektor for a collab 12" on Bpitch. I think it may be part of a series as there's a big fat #1 in the corner....Like pokemon you gotta catch 'em all. Decent tune this one anyway. The 1st track on the A side (Godspeed) is pretty kicking dancehall number along the lines of Apparat and it's probably the catchiest poppiest tune they've got in their repertoire. Next up you get 2 different versions of White Flash featuring Thom Yorke, the 2nd version is a remix by Trentemoller. Anyhoo White Flash is a decent busy sounding piece of electronica with Thom being a bit mardy over it. His voice suits the music and we reckon it all fits together quite nicely. Like a hand in a glove for example. Lethal! This is called Happy Birthday - remixes!

what a collaboration: radiohead´s thom yorke and modeselektor, the original version from the album on here. this song needs no more words, besides of the fact that it was honoured by several radio stations worldwide with a playlist.
b: the white flash (feat thom yorke) - trentemøller remix
trentemøller at its best. this 09:30 mins monster can be seen as an hommage to the original - how trentemøller gains momentum with a breaky beat, then opens the field for thom yorke´s vocals with only a few but very effective sound variations, lets an unbelievable tight beat hit the spot, aims for the well-deserved break that lets mr. yorke´s vocals stand nearly all alone, only supported by a lovely chord, and then finishes in a way that makes you wanna drop the needle to the beginning again immediately, is simply: the absolute flash. the white flash. |
