I wanted to look at what I'd written before about Melodium but the site is sick as a dog so I'll have to make do with the fact I know he's of the French persuasion and writes some beautiful trippy ambient stuff from hypnotic and searching to occasional glitch & gently experimental. These sections flow between charming acoustic folk lullabies for his latest CD, 'My Mind is Falling to Pieces'. There's even a tune that makes me think of an instrumental early Leonard Cohen number in it's magical gypsy miasma! Well it is called 'A Sort of Happy Melancholy' guffaw chortle. This will appeal to all the Yellow 6 and Portal fans out there I think. Lovely tuneful stuff from a sad eyed charmer on Arbouse, responsible for the Astrid CD which has gone down very well with you noise addled clan!

About the humble CD:

The CD is essentially a small portable face mirror which has an extra feature of being able to play music (through a thing known as a CD player). These CD's are a modern invention hence them being all shiny and digital. They can hold about 80 minutes of music and apparently are indestructible as you can smear jam on them and they still play (not as nourishing as toast mind you but when you're hungry.....). They sound crystal clear and are tiny convenient things. They lack the charm and warmth of their old analogue counterparts but their portability, convenience and ease of being duplicated make them a perfect thing of a thing for most folks. Jewel cases are the worst thing ever though and they really need to stop.
