First volume in LTM's compilation series Auteur Labels, profiling cult Manchester imprint New Hormones.
New Hormones was founded in 1977 by punk pioneers Buzzcocks and their manager Richard Boon to release the epochal Spiral Scratch ep (ORG 1). The label went on to release approximately 25 records, the catalogue combining post-punk, pop and avant-garde by Ludus, Diagram Brothers, Biting Tongues, Dislocation Dance, Eric Random and others. These key groups are featured here, together with five more recent recordings by New Hormones artists.
The 65 minutes remastered CD covers the years 1977-1982 and features a detailed label history by Justin Toland, together with interviews and archive images.
