Also on Disco_r.dance is Blaubac's newie, the 'Reflux' EP. Now if I were him I'd imbibe some Pepto-Bismol because that really soothes your indigestion worries and chills your stomach the fuck down. I had some this morning cos I felt like i'd eaten a bag of wasps & half a cactus when I got up. To be serious, this is some beautifully produced glitch-tronica leading into a minimal aquatic techno feel and some of the purest bass throbs I've heard outside a Digital Mystikz record. As regular readers will know, my fave adjective is 'atmospheric' and this EP is indeed that. Track 2 is a compulsive unraveling trip that sounds like an affectionate 6 minute update of The Orb's vision, utilizing many influences but keeping it fresh & cleansing with an unobtrusive beat & a multitude of future ambient effects. Track 3 is a sweet number also, occasionally melancholic, very beautiful with some futuristic stutter-beats and moody, glacial synths that makes me think of EU & Fizzarum. If you're missing the progression of this style in your life 'cos every fucker has gone dubstep then maybe this should be on yr shopping list. And don't forget the Rennie'sBlaubac : Reflux e.p.
DSCRD/CD007 Having previously released two albums and an e.p. for Moth Records, Blaubac follows up his disco_r.dance compilation appearance with 3 new tracks of his distinctive jazz and classical-infused electronics. Beautifully detailed and moody atmospheres that will appeal all those who appreciate quality electronic music.
