After 5 years, Tricky comes back to his roots with the punchy ‘Council Estate’, the first single taken from his long-awaited album ‘Knowle West Boy’.
‘Council Estate’ will be available across two vinyl 7”s and digital download. The first 7” features a remix from Brooklyn wizard Kotchy. The second remix features a South Rakkas Crew remix. The Florida based duo take no prisoners, heading straight for the bashment, adding a little extra herb and spice to the equation. Having already torn floors to pieces from Baltimore to Trench Town, the electro dancehall peddling South Rakkas Crew are steadily building quite a name for themselves.   A minisite, www.knowlewestboy.com, has been created for the album release and includes a ‘Council Estate’ remix competition, which has seen great reaction so far.
‘Council Estate’ was mixed by UK based, house and techno influenced DJ / producer Switch who has lately worked with MIA and Santogold and is also Sinden’s partner in the Counterfeet label.
