Iliketrains- Elegies To Lessons Learnt

Q. What is it?
A. It's a DVD you plum.

Q. What does it do?
A. It plays back audio and video at a higher quality than VHS but not as good as fancy pants blu ray discs and that

Q. What's on it?
A. Stuff. Well actually it's a full length animated feature which plays along to the soundtrack of the album.

Q. What's it about?
A. It follows the path of a broken man traveling through the lives of others to find his own (miserable) fate.

Q. Is it gonna be like a miserable version of Finding Nemo?
A. No. It's stop start animation (rather than your more modern 3D gear) along the lines of Jan Svankmajer

Q. Wow. That sounds good. What else do I get?
A. Lordy you're greedy. Well actually there's some videos of past singles, live performances, production stills and 9 essays

Q. 9 essays??
A. Yes 9 essays!

Q. Is it any good?
A. Yeah I enjoyed it though it's well dark and it totally made me feel like I wanted to die by the end of it.

Love this record? Hate it? Tell us.

What their label says...

“Frankly, genius is an understatement” - NME
Leeds band iLiKETRAiNS simultaneously release a full-length animated film of their debut album ‘Elegies To Lessons Learnt’ and brand new single ‘We Go Hunting’. They support the release with their third tour of Europe and a tour of small venues in the UK.
The animated film is a beautiful and disturbing observation which follows a bewildered soul as he travels through a series of historical events depicted in the subject matters of the band’s album. Self-produced, the film adds another dimension to the cacophonic experience of the album and is a wonderful companion for it.
The DVD also features the band’s videos, including the award winning ‘Terra Nova’, plus extra live footage and a stills gallery.
The DVD is strictly limited to 1000 for the UK, and comes packaged in a regular CD sized digipack.
