Back to the indie, Slow Down Tallahassee are defiantly old school. 'The Beautiful Light' CD makes me think of those old late 80s girl fronted bands like The Heartthrobs & The Darling Buds or The Popguns. I like her pissed off girl vocals and when she swears you know she's proper angry. There's a bit of a Transvision Vamp chug to it all, a fist raising anthemic feel with proper foot stomping 60's influences. If you dig The Pipettes you'll like some of the old Shangri-La's inspired songs. It's all quite nostalgic but incredibly catchy and surprisingly meaty. Amazing what you can do with a drum machine and some old keyboards! On Sheffield Phonographic Corporation.

What their label says...

The Beautiful Light

Slow Down Tallahassee’s “The Beautiful Light”, produced by Sheffield legend Alan Smyth (Arctic Monkeys, Long Blondes, Pulp, Richard Hawley, etc.), is a shining beacon of fuzzed-up indie pop! As Slow Down Tallahassee say themselves:

“We started the band because we wanted to write songs with warmth and passion. Songs that people could dance to and fall in love with, combining truth with fantasy, exploring the shadows between innocence and corruption. But, above all, our goal has been to make a great pop record.”

And that they have done. Taking guidance from their love of 50s twang, 60s pop and 80s indie, Slow Down Tallahassee have created a world of their very own. Join the gang and you’ll never be lonely again.
