OVERVIEW: MTV EMAs, the Grammys, the NME Awards, Les Victoires de la Musique… just some of the top awards ceremonies worldwide that Parisian electro princes Justice (aka Xavier de Rosnay & Gaspard Auge) have been honoured at with a spread of nominations and wins. Currently headlining the Myspace Music Tour in North America alongside Chromeo and labelmate DJ Mehdi, the noise-mongering duo are pausing for breath to drop a third killer single from their critically-acclaimed debut album, the divinely titled †. ‘DVNO’, released May 12th on Ed Banger Records & Because Music, is already a firm live favourite with their growing army of fans; from fluo-clad blog kids to antique metalheads and everyone in between. Featuring the perfect disco falsetto from Scenario Rock’s Mehdi Pinson (another familiar face on the Paris scene) this is a dancefloor filler for them all; “for the young and old, ugly girls and boys”. Highlights of the package include a slamming remix from Institubes’ wonderkid Surkin, who ups the tempo and transforms ‘DVNO’ into a Hi-Nrg future-banger for the next generation with a sprinkle of tech-funk magic from his laptop. De Rosney and Auge also turn their hands to remix their own track, and the result is a snarling techno beast, deftly showing the shades of light and dark in the Justice machine.
