A Thousand Words is the first full UK album release by the Antwerp, based musician Arne Van Petegem (aka Styrofoam) and includes guest vocal performances by singers including Jim Adkins (Jimmy Eat World), Josh Rouse and Blake Hazard (The Submarines). The combination of vocals, guitars, synthesizers and other electronic programming results in a unique ‘emotronica’ hybrid on many songs, not unlike a more uptempo take on The Postal Service.
The album is produced by WAX LTD (aka Wally Gagel and Xandy Barry), who combine both indie rock and mainstream pop roots as the producers of Belly/Tanya Donelly, Sebadoh, Folk Implosion and Eels as well as Jessica Simpson.
Styrofoam is a producer/remixer of some renown via collaborations with acts as varied as The Postal Service, Death Cab For Cutie, Jimmy Eat World and Lali Puna.
