What their label says...

P.W. Long writes songs from the darkest recess of the soul, where desire and fear mingle with loneliness and
desperation, and optimism is always tempered with a dose of harsh reality and a few shots of hard liquor. His songs ache with experience, an experience hard won from his lifetime of making music.
P.W. Long played guitar in legendary whuppass band Mule, afterward going on to play with Mac McNeilly (The Jesus Lizard) under the name P.W. Long With Reelfoot.
P.W. Long’s newest and fourth album God Bless The Drunkard’s Dog is the long awaited follow-up to 2003’s
Remembered. Again employing the powerhouse drums of one Taylor Young (formerly of Young Heart Attack) the duo slug it out in what is definitely his most rounded and complete album to date, all the vintage swagger of Mule at their most cocksure along with the more fragile poignancy of P.W.’s solo songs.
Previously released in January 2007 on LP through Southern Record’s vinyl only off-shoot label, Black Diamond, we are making it available on the CD format for the first time, to coincide with his European tour in April/May 2008.
God Bless... is now available on CD in a 6-panel digipak containing a lyric insert which P.W. had translated into many languages before back into English.
