Barry Adamson's been at it for ages now and he's looking ultra cool on the front of 'Back To The Cat' with his greying beard and shades. I particularly like the fact that the BA in the word back and his initials have been highlighted making me think of BA Baracus. Although I totally respect what this man does it has never really inspired me in any way. I do like the darker moments but I'm not entirely convinced by the cabaret / jazz/ crooner. Music wise there's a shitload of Hammond, guitar, trumpet sax and sleazy jazz drums to keep your feet tapping. Whether you dig him or not, you cannot deny that he's got soul. CD on Central Control.

What their label says...

“Delivered with a bravura that makes it work a treat” – The Independent“A chaotic jazz-funk shuffle… brass-backed, Sixties-style soul… breezy country-and-western… swampy Southern States blues – [Adamson’s] new songs shone brightest” – The TimesPremiered in November 2007 during a pair of sold-out events at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London, Barry Adamson is finally ready to unveil his latest creation, Back To The Cat, upon the wider world.  The album, his 7th studio release, finds Adamson in a furious focus, fully embracing a pop sensibility and fusing it with dark, swinging blues, soul, funk, out-jazz and filmic takes.
