Stone Baby: 'Understanding Urban Phenomena and Modernism' (Reverb Worship) Is maybe a bit of mouthfull for an artists edition CDR but an intriguing title all the same. Limited to an edition of fifty, the tracks here are titled from parts one to six. The opening salvo comes along like one of those strange Fonal releases from Finland: all buzzing drones, hollow tones and what sound like guitars with FX. Sitting somewhere between the experimental outposts of labels like Textile the aforementioned Fonal and the noise/psych/folk twists and turns of Blackest Rainbow and Ecstatic Peace, these six tracks bubble and boil, developing in a meandering fashion like the popular drifting ambient styles still prevalent in many a homemade music cottage industry. I like the way this collection develops from one theme to another taking in noisy interuptions and serial use of indoor found sound.

What their label says...

This is a 50 copy hand numbered edition cdr.It comes in a metallic blue coated paper sleeve with paste on artwork and sprayed cdr.The album sounds like a cross between Robedoor and "Ghosts On Magnetic Tape" era Bass Communion. The album has one long track split into six parts. It starts and finishes with the sounds of footsteps wallking across a wooden floor. The albums very creepy with ethereal female voices, drones, found sounds and atmospheric noise.
