Wooden Spoon: '3' (Reverb Worship) This is a really fascinating collection of pieces for piano, synthesizer, organ and tape loop across three tracks on a label that could easily be a cousin of Blackest Rainbow. I'm a sucker for pianos and decaying tape loops, there's something about the space between sounds and the atmosphere created by the sustain/reverb added to the recording. I listened to this first thing on arrival to the towers and it had a kind of calming, introspective and warm feeling to it. Fan's of William Basinki will like the enveloping tones. Fans of minimal aesthetics will enjoy the fact that all that's on this recording is all that's needed. Fits quite snugly between the new breed of drone musics and the contemporary electronic/digital vanguard. My album of the week alongside the Astral Social Club's latest album.

What their label says...

This album has been specially recorded just for my label. Its a continuation of his first two releases on the Foxglove label. This album features three tracks featuring piano, synthesizer, organ and tape loops. The centrpiece is a 25 minute minimal dronework. The whole album has this wonderful mournful ambient slowly moving feel to.Its taken about 3 months from start to finish and I am really delighted with it.So far I have had a lot of interest in its release
