At least Foals have a bit of spunk about them. Although their mathletic rock is quite chin strokey in it's infinite bendiness with twists & turns all over the shop, there's some wonderful sounds on newie 'Cassius', even some saxophone shoehorned in there for Philly-poos. They're basically a realy impressive cross between Bloc Party & defunct cult Yank post mathrock crew Dismemberment Plan to these ears. They do treat music like some kinda 100 metre sprint these chaps. There's loads of delicious flourishes in amongst their tunes, a right tasty musical lasagne indeed. The Kieran Hebden version lasts about 10 hours & just stretches it all out into a kinda more atmospheric hypnotic kinda thang. Still nice on the ears tho' wiv loads going on and that, sweet trebly guitar line over lots of organic whirrs & clicks before it gradually starts building into an update on Ganger or summat!

OVERVIEW: Destined to be the band of 2008, Foals raucously smash together math rock guitar solo’s with electric drum beats, that combine to make the most original pop music your likely to hear this millennium. Hailing from the inner recesses of Oxford, Cassius is the first fully released single on offer from the 6-piece band and is taken from their hotly anticipated debut album, Antidotes, that has fans and critics alike pumped with excitement! This is the second single to be taken from the forthcoming album and has the hallmark sounds of Foals, jaunty guitars, intelligent lyrics and an urgent sound that is simply unforgettable!
