On a more mellow tip is the new Jasper TX CD on Slaapwel Records. 'This Quiet Season' is a 6 track album of that late at night music they call bedtime music. In fact the label specializes in music to fall asleep to. Something I used to do all the time but now I don't have a CD player in the bedroom..... Also it kind of feels rude to the artist to fall asleep during their music... It's like going to a shop to buy something and the shop assistant falls asleep while serving you. Well maybe it's not exactly like that.... Anyway this CD is lovely... it builds and builds into some interesting sounding electronics. In fact by the end of the 1st track if you're not asleep (it starts gentle) then I doubt you will be as there's far too much going on. Unless you've got a shitload of sleep nearby you've got no chance..... Actually it does mellow out quite a lot into a track called 'Moments' which is very much like the ace Library Tapes.. Overall it's a strong release of acoustics and electronics creating a lovely world to be in....
