Last Of The Real Hardmen: 'Darkness' (Low Point) Is a thirteen track CD collection of solo guitar improvisations from Nottingham (UK) based member of Lords, Wolves Of Greece, Reynolds, and Felix. Crafted from recordings made directly to four track cassette, as you may imagine these are ambling, rambling pieces of guitar tomfoolery treated with a range of FX using a variety of approaches to gaining contrasts and juxtapositions of sound, noise/textures. As the title implies these pieces err on the darker side of experimental fretwork. Fans of Fahey, Carter and Loren Connors will maybe find this stuff approachable. Comes packaged in black, black and more black...hand numbered ltd ed

What their label says...

‘Darkness’ is the latest release from Last of the Real Hardmen, the solo guise of Nottingham guitarist Chris Summerlin (Lords, Wolves of Greece, Reynolds, Felix).  Following on from his warmly received audio travel diary ’10,000 Miles’, released on Bird War Records in October 2006, here Chris presents 13 improvised tracks, recorded direct to four track cassette using treated electric guitars.  These freeform compositions mark a sinister and shadowy contrast to the buoyant acoustic guitar playing of previous releases and demonstrate a further expansion in style of Chris’ musical palette.

For fans of Loren Mazzacane Connors, late John Fahey and Tom Carter.

Black/black cdr, packaged in a heavyweight black on black silk screened card sleeve. Limited edition of 100 hand-numbered copies.
