Battles have had an amazing year, with the release of their album
‘Mirrored’ in May they have transformed from an underground buzz band
to an international critically and commercially renowned force. The
album and preceding single ‘Atlas’ have enjoyed such plaudits as track
and album of the week in NME, along with mountains of other media
coverage. They return with this new EP, lead by the eight minute epic
‘Tonto’. A stunning video for the track has been made in collaboration
with United Visual Artists which is making waves right now.
The EP
includes remixes from Four Tet, Kompakt’s The Field and US hip hop
producer DJ EMZ featuring the vocal talents of Dr Dre-mentored US
rapper, Joell Ortiz.Both the CD and 12” also include a bonus DVD with
the new ‘Tonto’ video, the acclaimed ‘Atlas’ video (1/2 million views
on YouTube) and a behind the scenes look at the making of ‘Tonto’.
