Kevin Drumm and Daniel Menche CD called Gauntlet on Editions Mego. This would be Ant's album of the week if he had more power, but alas he sits outside the castle door with his broken horse. This is an extremely powerful emotive guitarfest of feedback, screeching and headfuckery. Beneath the enormous walls of sound are melodies and ryhthms which aren't immediately obvious. It's still hard work though I reckon and it what I always imagined Glenn Branca would/ should sound like.

Emerging from the city's improvised music scene, in the 1990s he became one of the world's pre-eminent prepared guitar players. Since then his work has expanded to include electroacoustic compositions and live electronic music made with laptop computers and analog modular synthesizers. His early recordings contain mostly sparse, quiet sounds; recent works have been crushingly loud and dense.Daniel Menche: organ and noise. Daniel Menche is a US musician from Portland, Oregon, whose work could best be described as belonging to the noise genre, though some of his works touch on ritual ambient, dark ambient, and other related styles.He has released music on labels such as Soleilmoon, Trente Oiseaux, Or Records, Alien8, Antifrost, Tesco Organisation, and Beta-lactam Ring Records.
