Arctic Monkeys: "Fluorescent Adolescent" (Domino) In which Alex pays his debt to an ex-girlfriend and attempts to boost the career of one John Cooper Clarke (the Manc punk poet). They don't need me to big this up as it's already a bona-fide hit. Question is; when is Alex gonna drop his hip-hop album?..his rhymes are killer.

What their label says...

‘Fluorescent Adolescent’ is the second single taken from Arctic Monkeys’ ‘Favourite Worst Nightmare’. It’s a real pop anthem which will be on everyone’s lips in the country by August.  A disco-inflected cousin of ‘Mardy Bum’ with ‘Festival Anthem of 2007’ tattooed all over it in gaudy pink and green. The single is available on digipack CD single as well as heavyweight 7” and 10” vinyl formats. All with spot gloss on the sleeve. 10”, CD and digital download will include 3 new exclusive tracks never released before, mixed and produced by James Ford and Mike Crossey. The lyrical narration is supported by a striking video directed by Richard Ayoade (‘The IT Crowd’, ‘Nathan Barley’, ‘The Mighty Boosh’), starring Stephen ‘Scummy Man’ Graham (‘Snatch’, ‘This Is England’, ‘Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels’) and a rather scary bunch of clowns.
